Winter Beach

If you read my Alternative Christmas post yesterday then you know that Sexy Hubby and I travelled to the South of France for a week.

We love the gorgeous, sandy beach in Gruissan. In the summer it is of course rather full of fellow holiday-makers, although there is so much space that it never feels overcrowded.

But in the winter… It is simply magical. We did meet the odd couple or family enjoying a walk too but mostly, we had the beach to ourselves. We could take Cute Doggy with us for long, exhilarating walks in the sun, letting him off the lead. He ran so much, ears flapping in the wind, that he fell asleep immediately every time upon our return.

A few weeks before our arrival, the region was hit by very bad weather that resulted in floods. Everything was back to normal when we were there but the traces of the storms were still clearly visible, with lots of driftwood, sometimes whole trees, scattered around the beach.

I found the light and the colours fascinating and completely different from a summer visit. Do you think so too?

Looks amazing! So deserted ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the beaches in the winter, just beacuse they are so deserted. Plus, I love snow on the beach sand ๐Ÿ˜‰ Which you probably cannot experience in the south of France though ๐Ÿ˜‰ The pictures are great!
