A selection of red-based outfits is present in my wardrobe, but up to now they were always paired with black shoes. Why? Because it is quite difficult to find the right pair of red shoes. The ones I have spotted were too sparkly, too lacy, too shiny or the colour was not deep enough. I had pretty much given up, until The Wedding Boutique asked me if I wanted to review their shoe dyeing service!
I had a browse on The Wedding Boutique easy to navigate website, featuring a really wide range of wedding shoes. I finally made up my mind and went for the “Lucy” model in satin. The heel height was just right and the curved detailing to the heel very much appealed to me. Once your choice is made, the process is very simple. First, you have the possibility to try the shoes before they are coloured to be certain they fit perfectly. All you need to do then is to send a swatch for the colour match, such as a garment, a piece of material or a handbag. I wanted my shoes to primarily go with a corset dress that I own, so I sent the ribbon used to tie the corset. The swatch will be returned with your shoes. There is also a free shipping option if you are not in a hurry; your brand new shoes will then be delivered within five to ten working days.
When my shoes arrived, I was first impressed with the care that had gone into protecting them: Lots of padding in the box, then shoes wrapped separately. I unpacked them and was truly delighted with the result. The colour is absolutely stunning and the shoes are very comfortable to wear. They will make a big difference to my corset dress, adding even more of a “wow” factor to it.
I had never used a shoe dyeing service before but would definitely do it again should the need arise. For me, it beats spending hours in shops in the hope of finding that perfect match. The Wedding Boutique also offers evening, bridesmaid, prom and children shoes, as well as dresses and a great selection of accessories, at reasonable prices.
After taking photos with the corset, I had a look at my other outfits; none has only one shade of red in it, so my new shoes go with all of them. Can you see the smile on my face?
Disclosure: The Wedding Boutique sent me a pair of shoes free of charge for the purpose of this review. Words, photos and opinions are my own.
