Slowing Down

Taking my time does not come naturally to me. I am always very busy, working on many projects simultaneously.

I have put a lot of pressure on myself these past few months by trying to finish the editing of Foundation, the first book of my Crossing Lives trilogy, posting six times a week and doing some “behind the scene” work to develop my blog, while also trying to expand my freelance writing. I can now feel how this is taking its toll on me.

Slowing Down and admiring sunsets

I have therefore decided to slow down a bit. I really want to complete the book, so this now takes the priority. I will still blog, but simply less often. Since I have pages of notes taken at Cybher that I am dying to use on the blog as well as the tendency to be a perfectionist, it will not be easy… I am however determined to try.

Tell me, have you already found yourself in the same kind of situation?

Oh I don’t blame you for slowing down a bit Katia, you need to enjoy some peaceful time with your family too. I have loads of things that I want to do on my blog, but simply can’t fit it in right now. The girls just refuse to let me do anything during the day and there is only so much that I can cram in during the evening. So I have forced myself to stop worrying about it and let them happen when or if they happen.

Enjoy getting your book ready and enjoy the summer, don’t let the blog put pressure on you too x

There are MORE things you want to do on your blog?! I am always very impressed with how many posts you manage to write. You really should not worry.
Thanks, I am planning on doing just that, enjoying the book AND the summer – which is always to short! ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx

I have gone from posting 5 times to 3 and I suspect now 2. The posts are in my head but I’m too busy to write them down or too tired. It’s also a summer thing I think.

You may be right about the summer thing. I did notice that you had slowed down a bit too, let’s enjoy some lazy summer days to recharge our batteries. xx

I always have lots of ideas buzzing around my head but it is exhausting work keeping up with them. A break is always a good thing. Good luck with the book. Can’t wait to read it!

Absolutely! I just can’t do everything. I have two little books unpublished, two articles unpublished, two paintings incomplete, two charities needing my attention. Not to mention Mr B, BriniZozi and the house and garden. Oh, and the kitchen project starts next week. At least our PA is back at work today ๐Ÿ™‚

So I absolutely understand why you need to focus on your book. I was just wondering when we might read a bit more.

Hope you had a fab weekend x.

Yes, sometimes you have to prioritise…
Not sure I will publish more extracts yet, sorry!
I did have a great weekend, thanks, loving that weather. xx

Oh I totally understand!!!! I have had many periods like this, and a nice break really did the trick. I am going to be blogging a lot less over the summer in the name of my novel too. Sometimes you just have to prioritise! Enjoy slowing down, looking after yourself, completing your novel, enjoying the summer. XXX
