The minute I read “Mother Nature” as theme of this week’s Gallery, I knew exactly which photo I was going to use.

Sexy Hubby and I came across this during a walk in our nearby forest. Actually, giving credit when it is due, it is Sexy Hubby who noticed this peculiar arrangement and pointed it out to me, and I took the picture, as I am without contest the camera person of the family.

I love it. I find it intriguing and utterly beautiful. The water looking dark blue on the edges and paler in the middle, reflecting the sky and the trees nearby. The vibrant green of the moss. The branches cradling it on one side while leaving the other open thus giving us the chance to really admire this combination.

I stare at this photo when having a contemplative moment and it brings me a sentiment of peace and happiness. I hope you will enjoy it too.

  1. That HAS to be a fairy puddle. I bet if you went through it you would find fairy land on the other side. Hmmm….wonder if the lack of sleep is catching up with me?

  2. This is a fantastic photo! I love the sharp colours in the middle, and I love the way the composition plays with the imagination. Im with the people who think it’s gotta be something to do with fairies…!

  3. Thank you all for your lovely comments, much appreciated! 🙂

Well, I was not going to say anything but since you more or less all guessed anyway… As we left, I caught a flutter of wings from the corner of my eye. By the time I turned around again, all was quiet as if nothing had happened…

  4. It’s amazing what you find when look closer into something you might just walk past if you weren’t ‘stopping to smell the roses’. In our busy materialistic lives it’s a great ‘skill’ to be able to just take the time to enjoy nature.

Is there any life in there, by the way, just out of curiousity?

    Beautiful words, beautiful picture. 🙂
