Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin |
The Tent

Hard to believe that the first of the two fashion events in the pipeline has come and gone already… Last Wednesday I hopped onto a morning train heading to Berlin and early afternoon, after checking into the wonderful DORMERO Hotel Brandenburger Hof, I was meeting Torsten Galts of FASHIONDAYS Group in front of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent!

The tent is located opposite the Brandenburg Gate and, as you can imagine, positively huge. About 150 meter in length, it is divided into several areas: An entrance for the press, tickets and cloakroom, leading into the sponsors’ exhibition hall with a VIP lounge on the upper floor and finally the catwalk/stage area and backstage.

It is constantly buzzing: Live interviews, photos taken in front of the entrance wall, queues snaking down the exhibition hall before the start of the next show, glasses of sparkling wine clinking, enthusiastic greetings, it never stops. I certainly got caught into this constant energy and enjoyed the spectacle unfolding in front of my eyes. Jorge Gonzalez, catwalk master on the Germany’s Next Top Model TV Show, was also kind enough to sign an autograph for Second Daughter. Needless to say, I am a pretty cool Mum right now! 😉

More to come this week on the Berlin Fashion Week of course, with the shows I went to and my visit to Premium. In the meantime, I would like to say thank you to Torsten and Marie-Luise Cawi of Cawi Concept for being my guides during these fantastic few days. And now let the photos speak for themselves…

Outside the Tent - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin - January 2014
