It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – The Door

Our house went into Christmas mode almost two weeks ago, while First Daughter was visiting. This year we went for a red and green theme again, after many years of gold, silver and white. LOADS of candleholders came out, to the extent that it is almost a full time job to change the tea lights, light them and blow them. No, it is not too much, it simply gives the lounge and dining area even more of a warm and welcoming feel!

Trinkets have also been scattered on the windowsill, the breakfast bar and the various tables. They have been hung on our indoor glass doors. Windows have been decorated with sparkly stickers. Yes, it still does look pretty, and not just cluttered, promise!

Oh, and then there is the tree still to come this weekend… So with so much going on inside, I wanted something understated for our front door. Something that would spell “Christmas” without glitter, colour or sparkle, so when I came across these letters in a deco shop, I did not hesitate:

ย

Understated AND Christmassy, right?

LOL!! We have MANY Christmas CDs, but Michael Buble is missing… Sexy Hubby is being subjected to daily renditions of “Last Christmas” instead, and does not have a say in the matter! ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx

Ooh what a great idea – a break from the Christmas wreath tradition! My daughter has also adorned our windows with Christmas window art – playroom only ๐Ÿ˜‰

Glad you like the idea! ๐Ÿ™‚ As for Christmas window art, it has been limited to one (big) window in the lounge… ๐Ÿ˜‰
