Do you like our Advent wreath? I do. I think it looks very pretty. But for the first time in… as long as I can remember, I have not created it myself. I supported the local economy instead and bought it in our village flower shop. Which is fine, but shows that life has been just so busy that it would have been stressful, not pleasurable, to make it. Apart from Advent calendars, there are no Christmas decorations in the house either, another unheard of fact mid-December!
Advent Wreath
The only “feeling festive” times so far have been when lighting the first candle on the wreath, listening to Wham‘s Last Christmas, or when enjoying the lovely Christmas markets nearby. First Daughter is visiting us this weekend and the plan is to buy and decorate the Christmas tree. And the house while we are at it. We will also bake Christmas cookies. All this with Glühwein for us adults and Kinderpunsch for the girls.

I reckon this should definitely bring on the spirit of Christmas.

  1. i am sure this weekend will spur you on to et festive and decorate, it is a shame when work has to get in the way. Whams Last Christmas is a great xmas tune – i love singing along to it and recalling my love for George Micheal back in the day (before he came out as gay!) x x

    1. Thank you, I think I am slowly getting there!
I remember having a poster of Wham! on the wall at some point… 😉 xx

    1. The festive feeling is picking up now… I have just made the shopping list for Christmas cookies! 😉 xx

  2. Your wreath is lovely Katia. I haven’t put any decorations up either or wrapped any pressies! It sounds like you will have a lovely weekend getting all festive. Grab a mince pie and put on some Xmas music!! 🙂 xx

    1. No mince pies available in Germany… 🙁 BUT we do have Stollen, Lebkuchen and Dominosteine! I guess they will do. 😉 xx

  3. Feeling festive doesn’t have much to do with decorations for me, although I love to look at lights decorating the houses at Christmastime. It’s when I have all the to-dos done (shopping, wrapping, baking) and I can enjoy the season with my family.

  4. Your wreath looks fab- I have had my first experience of making my own one this year on a craft evening with a friend- tbh I think I will be doing one every year from now on! 🙂

    1. Even though I love the one I bought, I missed not doing it myself this year… Will be a one off, I think. Yours looks really nice, well done! 🙂 xx
