The Fasching season has started, our fifth since our arrival in Germany. Yesterday was the true beginning of the festivities for us as we attended our local parade under beautiful blue skies and a brightly shining sun. It was so mild that we did not fancy mulled wine but went for Prosecco instead!
Second Daughter and her friend met at our place and spent over half an hour fancy dressing and painting their faces in an elaborate fashion. They left ahead of us as they could not wait a minute longer. Cute Doggy stayed home after being taken for a long walk, as the noise level and the crowd would have been no fun for him.
Sexy Hubby and I had an entertaining two hours admiring the creativity of the Carnival costumes and floats, surrounded by kids with only one goal in mind: To catch as many sweets and bags of popcorn being thrown at them as possible! We are already looking forward to attending our beloved Fasnacht party next weekend. Slash will make a comeback, but this time with a new companion…
I was also delighted to put my brand new camera to the test. I still have to get used to it, of course, but I was pleased with the way I captured the atmosphere and the bright colours.
