Fasching Party |
When Madonna Meets Slash

After the Fasching parade the previous weekend, it was time last Saturday for our traditional Carnival party. You may have seen the photo preview yesterday and recognized Slash – this year with the real hat unlike two years ago! – and Madonna in her Desperately Seeking Susan days. Admittedly our selfies are not as nearly impressive as the one taken by Bradley Cooper and Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars yesterday; they are also unlikely to break a new record on Twitter, but I find them amusing all the same. 😉

The theme this year was Berühmt und Berüchtigt. In other words: Famous and Infamous. Most people ditched the infamous part but there was a fair share of Al Capones around, the majority of them bizarrely sporting the gangster’s name around the brim of their hats. I also spotted Bonnie and Clyde and a group of four went down the music path too, fabulously dressed up as KISS. Two young women did a good job portraying Audrey Hepburn in her role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Marilyn Monroe stood not far from us.

This was my fourth Faschingsparty and I must say that my singing along to the traditional German Carnival songs is fast improving, to the tremendous amusement of Sexy Hubby. My greatest achievement however was to sing the ENTIRE Like A Prayer song together with Madonna!

That sounds like the best party ever Katia!!! You two look awesome – what great choices of outfits too. I donned the Desperately Seeking Susan look perhaps a little too often in the Eighties (shh don’t tell anyone!). Great post, love the photos. Thank you for sharing with #whatsthestory x

Thank you, Charly! I did not want to take my “proper” camera to the party but I think the photos give a good idea of the atmosphere.
I was wearing my original, vintage lace glove too… 😉 xx

No. Too much people, too much noise ! 😉

But I like that others have fun, even if it’s not my style. Happiness is a good illness to spread ! 😉

Indeed… The sun has been shining since then! 😀
As for Slash’s hat, I agree, much better than the green hat two year ago… 😉 xx

      Thank you. 🙂
Funny you should say that… Unlike my silly “Flirty Blonde” wig two years ago, I thought this one, with mixed colours, looked pretty good. Watch this space! 😉 xx

Brilliant – you both look fantastic, bet it was a great party too! Your comment about knowing all the songs reminds me of us with Oktoberfest songs! 😀
