This beautiful offering of nature caught my eye while on holiday in the Maldives.
I liked the fact that it was not perfect, but cracked, with a little piece missing already.
I liked how the sand had gathered in the hollow part.
I liked the different shades of orange, the white inside border setting them off.
And I liked how both strong and fragile this shell looked, hanging onto that rock.

Lovely colours.
Thank you!
Wow that is really beautiful!
Thought so too, had to capture it!
Lovely – bet the Maldives is beautiful. Would love to go there.
It is beautiful. You really step into a postcard. Thanks for stopping by.
It amazes me how such a small and extremely fragile shell can hang on while waves crash against it! Wow you have been to the Maldives (not too jealous!) , that’s why this little shell is so pretty then!
Great choice of photo x
Thanks, Jenny!
Yes, the way it was cracked I could not believe it was still there! The Maldives were a wonderful holiday, I am counting my blessings! xx
What beautiful colours!
Thought so too, and I love orange (orange nails at the moment!)
Nature isn’t always perfect (or delicate). Your image is lovely x.
Thank you!
That is what makes it so interesting… xx
Beautiful picture. I agree how nature can be so strong yet fragile also. Love the colours, bet the Maldives are amazing!

Glad you liked it, and that you agree!
Yes, the Maldives are amazing indeed… Sigh…
Beautiful. Lovely colours. TYhere’s something about sea shells, isn’t there?
Indeed… Always gather some when on holiday too.
That’s gorgeous- fantastic colours.
Thanks, happy you think so!
Stunning colours and I love its fragility too. Well spotted.

Totally the kind of photos I like to take…
That is lovely, the contrast of the colours and textures and light, just love it!
Happy you enjoyed it so much!
So many fantastic photo opportunities in the Maldives…
Oooh yeah, you summed it up perfectly.
Thank you!
Looked at it carefully, and the words came easily…
Beautiful photo – perfect for the theme!
Yes, it had to be this one!
Thanks for commenting.
Beautiful picture.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
What a beautiful shell! Don’t get them like that on our beaches.
You have a point!
Plenty of beautiful colours in the Maldives… The ocean, the fish, the flowers… and the shells, of course.
Oh, that sure is a delicate gift of nature to come across and a beautiful photograph.
Thanks so much! There are so many gifts around, when we take the time to look.
I wanted to leave a comment in your previous post but I did not find the space to leave it.
When I was in my 20´s my family relationship was really bad. Lots of fights too. And I went to live with my brother and visited my parents on the weekends. It was the best of times because there were no fights and after a while I discovered that it had nothing to do with love or not love, if not with “adults” living together, my parents with their way of living and me trying to find my own way of living, different from theirs.
Thanks for your lovely comment and for sharing your story, Ellen. You are right, there are different ways of making family life work, it is not easy, sometimes the decisions hurt, but what matters is the love we have for each other. xx
