Children – Giant Soap Bubbles

Tara could not have picked a subject with a wider scope. Children… Yours, the ones in your entourage, school friends of your offspring, the possibilities are endless!

I chose a photo that was made last May during our wonderful weekend in Berlin. We were approaching Brandenburger Tor when we spotted this young woman starting to create giant soap bubbles. She quickly attracted quite a crowd, and it was a delight to see how much fun the children got out of this. They kept jumping up and down and running around trying to catch the huge bubbles whose colours were scintillating in the afternoon sun, laughing or with wide smiles on their faces.

I took about ten snaps of the scene but this one is my favourite as I caught these two boys and that little girl in action. I deliberately added the effect to the photo to make them less recognizable and I think it adds something to it.

So… Does this give you the urge to be a child again and catch the bubbles too?

I’m very glad to say that I’ve never lost that urge!

To me great people photo is 1 that captures a moment, & this does it perfectly: even the bubbles look really good! Great story, great photo 🙂

Thank you! 🙂 It took a few attempts to get both the jumping children AND the bubbles right, but I think it was worth it. And very happy to read that you still feel like jumping too, I think it is so important to keep this spirit!
